GSA is excited to announce a code-along event focused on creating more hands-on coders within GSA. Our featured theme is Data Science! There will be several training classes for GSA staff to take ranging from Python, R and API's to version control and data visualizations. Please note, this event is open to federal GSA staff only.

How It Works

Start by registering using the link below. You will be asked to register for specific sessions so that we can adjust the room sizes if needed. Your name will then be submitted to the D2D team to have you added to the Data Science Virtual Desktop (DSVD). On the day of the event, please bring a laptop so you can fully participate in the training. Registration will open at 8:30AM in the 1400 conference center atrium.

Frequently Asked Questions

• Is any pre-event prep needed?

  Yes, you must get access to the Data Science Virtual Desktop (DSVD). If you have not received any info about this 1 week prior to the training, please reach out to sara.cope@gsa.gov.

• How do I get there?

  The training will be held in rooms 1420 and 1425 at GSA headquarters. Class sessions and times will be posted outside of each room. Stop by the registration table before attending any sessions for an updated schedule.

• Will there be a remote option?

  At this time, we will not be offering a remote option for this day. All materials will be posted on GitHub after the event, however, and will be accessible to anyone.

• Will there be food available?

  GSA will not be providing refreshments for this event. Many coffee shops and restaurants are located near the office, several are right across the street. Feel free to bring items with you or run out to lunch.
